Step 1: Check the exact error
Different errors point to different causes. “Server not found” may be DNS. “Connection timed out” may be hosting. “Your connection is not private” is usually SSL.
Step 2: Check recent changes
- Was DNS changed recently?
- Was hosting moved?
- Was SSL renewed or removed?
- Was a redirect plugin or CDN setting changed?
Step 3: Basic checks
- Confirm nameservers are correct.
- Confirm A/CNAME records point to the right host.
- Confirm hosting account is active.
- Confirm SSL certificate is valid.
- Try both root domain and www version.
When to ask for help
If your website and email are both affected, avoid random changes. First preserve the current DNS records, then troubleshoot carefully.
